Recently, researchers from the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences conducted systematic material science research on Chang'e-5 lunar soil samples, and discovered for the first time the naturally occurring glass fibers in the Chang'e-5 lunar soil. These glass fibers prove that lunar regolith has good glass-forming ability and excellent processing and molding characteristics. In the future, the glass for building a moon base may be obtained locally#, and the glass materials and devices needed for manufacturing can be produced in situ using the lunar soil
